Alexia Gutierrez AP Literature Block 4 Uno Futuro Brillante  (A Bright Future) I don't bring Giovanny and Samantha to Cinnabar Hills Golf Course because I want them to assimilate to the “rich” and “snobby” country club atmosphere. I bring them, and my other Latinx Golf students, to Cinnabar so that they can feel worthy, confident and full of pride when playing golf, just like any other golfer no matter the color of their skin or the course.  What may seem normal to many golfers, is worlds different than what my kids are used to. They tell me how they never feel comfortable at “fancy golf courses” because they feel that they don’t belong and golf is “too expensive, so what’s the point" of pursuing it as a sport. I mean can you blame them! Golf is expensive and it can be very discouraging due to its exclusivity for people of color.
